500 kg Heating Power Unit and Water-Heating Vessel Over Stairs in Beverly Hills

Two heating-system units, a 500 kg power unit, difficult stair access and a restricted doorway. JB used two removalists and two types of stair climber to complete this specialised move.

Specialised mechanical equipment relocation

Heavy heating equipment moved over stairs at a Beverly Hills house

JB Removals was engaged to move two substantial units belonging to the property’s house-and-pool water-heating system. The job included a 500 kg heating power unit that needed to go downstairs, together with a tall cylindrical water-heating vessel that also had to negotiate the stair route.

The relocation combined several access challenges: the equipment’s weight and shape, narrow external stairs, close building clearances and the doorway into the destination area. The two-person JB crew used two different stair-climber types across the job, with separate handling arrangements for the power unit and the cylindrical vessel.

500 kg heating-system power unit

The heavy power unit required specialist support for its downstairs move. The photographs show a blue tracked stair climber alongside the wrapped unit, with protective materials and securing straps forming part of the setup.

Tall water-heating vessel

The vessel presented a different handling shape from the power unit. Its height, cylindrical body and projecting connections had to be considered along with the stairway and doorway clearances.

Two removalists and two stair-climber types

JB used a two-removalist crew and two types of stair climber for this project. The blue tracked equipment and red stair-climbing trolley served different stages of the two-unit relocation.

Stairs and restricted building entry

Both units had to enter the building through a doorway after negotiating stairs. Reaching the doorway was part of the same handling task as completing the stair route.

The specialist handling method

Two stair-climber types for heavy heating equipment relocation

01

Protecting and securing the 500 kg power unit

The power unit was wrapped and secured with straps around its protected body. The blue tracked stair climber was used as part of moving this heavy unit downstairs. The setup brought the equipment, restraint and load protection together before the access stage.

02

Supporting the cylindrical water-heating vessel

The vessel was secured to the red stair-climbing trolley. The supplied photographs show wrapping or protective spacers around the body, with straps holding the load to the moving equipment during stair handling.

03

Coordinating the two-person crew on the stair route

One removalist operated and guided the moving equipment while the crew coordinated the load through the available space. The photographs show the vessel travelling along stairs beside the house, where the wall, fence and stair transitions shaped the route.

04

Taking both units through the restricted doorway

The doorway was a further clearance point for both heating-system units. JB completed the movement into the building as part of the specialised relocation, carrying the access assessment beyond the last stair.

Height and projecting connections mattered alongside weight

A tall cylindrical vessel needs room for its body, its fittings and the moving equipment around it. On this project, the stair route ran alongside the building with limited side clearance. The vessel’s shape was therefore an important part of how it could pass through the route.

Load restraint and protective spacers

The photographs show securing straps and protective spacers around the vessel on the red stair-climbing trolley. These details distinguish this heating-equipment move from a straightforward delivery across an open, level site.

Specialist removalists for a house-and-pool heating system

The system served the house and pool, but the task for JB was the physical movement of its heavy units. The project demonstrates specialist equipment handling at a residential property with demanding access.

Project result

Both heating-system units moved over stairs and into the building

JB completed the relocation of the 500 kg power unit and the water-heating vessel using two removalists and two stair-climber types. The scope included the downstairs handling, stair access and restricted doorway entry needed to bring both units into the building.

This Beverly Hills job is a practical example of heavy equipment moving in Sydney: different unit shapes, specialist mechanical support and a route that had to be considered from the equipment’s starting position through to the destination.

Heavy heating-equipment moving questions

Can JB move a 500 kg heating unit downstairs?

This project included a 500 kg heating power unit moved downstairs with specialist stair-climbing equipment. For another unit, JB assesses the weight, dimensions and complete access route before confirming the method.

Can a water heater or boiler vessel be moved over stairs?

This job included a tall water-heating vessel moved over stairs. Send photographs of the unit, its connections, stairs, landings and doorway so the team can assess the handling requirements.

Will two removalists be enough for every heating-system move?

Two removalists and two stair-climber types were used for this particular project. Crew size and equipment for another job depend on its units, access and agreed scope.

What information is needed for a heavy-equipment quote?

Provide the weight and dimensions of each unit, pickup and destination details, and photos or video of the full route. Identify any preparation, disconnection or reconnection work that must be coordinated with the relevant trades.
