Allow roughly 15–25 standard cartons. JB's practical starting package uses 25: 15 medium boxes for books, kitchenware and everyday items, plus 9 large boxes and 1 porta-robe. Add more for a full kitchen, balcony, books or storage cage.
Allow roughly 30–45 standard cartons. JB starts at 47 items: 25 medium boxes, 20 large boxes and 2 porta-robes. A lightly furnished apartment may use less; a house with a study, children, outdoor items or storage will usually sit near the upper end.
JB's family starting point uses 76 items: 40 medium boxes, 32 large boxes and 4 porta-robes. Choose the lower end for a compact, decluttered home; use the full starting point for a well-stocked kitchen, children's rooms, books or garage contents.
Start with the editable 3 bedroom package, then add another 10–20 cartons when the home has multiple wardrobes, a double garage, a large kitchen, outdoor equipment or stored belongings. Use Plan My Move when volume or access is unusual.
Reliable options include a removalist, specialist box retailer, hardware store or storage supplier. Free reused cartons can reduce cost, but inspect them for damp, pests, crushed corners and weak bases. JB sells complete packages and individual brand-new materials.
