WAREHOUSE RELOCATION PLANNING
Start With Inventory, Access and Operational Sequence
Warehouse relocations can combine racking areas, stock, office contents, handling equipment, loading docks and more than one operational stage. Before crew and vehicles are selected, the scope must separate what JB will move from work requiring installers, licensed trades or specialist contractors.
JB Removals plans the physical relocation around the declared items, both sites and the required sequence. A site review may be recommended where equipment, access or staging cannot be understood from photographs and inventory data.
Define What Is Moving
Group the inventory by category. Provide quantities, dimensions and weights where available.
- Boxed stock, pallets or loose goods
- Office furniture and cartons
- Shelving or racking components already prepared for transport
- Benches, cabinets and fixtures
- Machines and commercial equipment
- Fragile, oversized or heavy items
- Contents moving to storage or another site
Identify hazardous, controlled or temperature-sensitive goods so they can be excluded or managed under the customer’s approved specialist arrangements.
Site and Dock Information
Confirm dock locations, vehicle clearances, loading limits supplied by the site, operating hours, pedestrian controls, security requirements and travel paths. Show ramps, gradients, floor transitions, internal doorways and the final position of large items.
The customer remains responsible for the site’s safety and operational controls. JB’s scope should record agreed access, inductions and interfaces with other contractors.
Machinery and Commercial Equipment
Machinery and equipment require item-specific information. Provide manufacturer documentation where applicable, dimensions, approximate weight, centre-of-gravity or lifting-point information if known, and the full route.
Do not assume disconnection, isolation, decommissioning, lifting certification, transport engineering or recommissioning are included. Define specialist responsibilities before the move.
See Heavy Removals and Hercules specialist lifting for separately assessed handling. Broader business contents may be coordinated through Commercial Removals.
SEQUENCE BEFORE SPEED
Staging and Storage
A warehouse move may need to be completed by zone, stock group or operational priority. Labels should support the destination layout and identify items needed first.
EasyBox mobile storage may suit some furniture, cartons or suitable contents, subject to the quoted requirements. It is not presented as a solution for every stock or equipment type.
Warehouse Relocation Method
- Appoint site contacts and define operational constraints.
- Complete an itemised inventory by zone.
- Review docks, clearances, routes and destination placement.
- Separate ordinary relocation work from specialist and third-party work.
- Select resources and develop the staging sequence.
- Confirm the written scope and interfaces.
- Reconfirm changes before mobilisation.

Potentially. The customer must define stock controls, and packing must be included in the scope.
What site information is required?
Provide docks, vehicle clearances, routes, access hours, inductions, floor conditions and destination layout.
Can office contents be moved with the warehouse?
Yes, where included. Office and warehouse components should remain separately itemised.
