REAL JB PROJECT · BATH MOVING & PROTECTED STAIR ACCESS
Freestanding Bath Relocation Through Stair Access in Sydney
A freestanding bath, a turning staircase and protection from outdoor handling to indoor placement.
JB Removals handled this freestanding bath relocation in Sydney. The project photos show a substantial oval bath, specialist handling fixtures and a confined staircase with a change of direction.
Protection was a visible part of the job: quilted blankets covered the bath during handling, while additional blankets lined surfaces beside the staircase. The final indoor views show the bath resting on padding with protective wrapping still in place.

THE PROJECT
Specialist freestanding bath moving in Sydney
A freestanding bath brings a curved body, exposed surfaces and a substantial footprint to a relocation. This project combined the handling of that item with a stair route that included a turn and limited space alongside the load.
The supplied photographs document the bath outdoors, covered and secured for specialist handling, and later inside the property. Separate route photographs show the carpeted staircase, its change of direction and the protective blankets arranged beside the steps.
Preparation and protection connected the different handling stages. The bath’s covering, its support on the moving equipment and the protection beside the stairs all formed part of the complete relocation.
THE ACCESS CHALLENGE
Moving a bulky bath through a turning stair route
A curved freestanding body
The oval bath needed space for its rounded sides and rim during handling. Its shape affected how it could be supported and positioned along the route.
A change of direction on the stairs
The staircase photos show a turn and confined surrounding surfaces. That change of direction formed an important part of the access arrangement.
Surfaces beside the moving route
Blankets covered adjoining stairwell surfaces and the banister area. The protection extended to the property as well as the bath itself.
The staircase was one section of the complete move. Outdoor preparation, transfers onto the moving equipment and indoor placement also shaped the work, with the protected bath supported differently at the stages shown.
THE HANDLING APPROACH
Bath wrapping, stairwell protection and specialist equipment
Preparing the bath at the outdoor area
The bath is pictured on timber boards near the moving equipment and JB truck. Clear wrapping and protective coverings are visible before the indoor stages of the relocation.
Covering the bath for handling
Quilted blankets covered the bath’s body, with clear film around the covering and securing straps visible across it. These layers formed part of the documented handling arrangement.
Supporting the protected item
Outdoor views show the bath on its side with orange handling fixtures and straps. These specialist arrangements supported the protected item during that stage, with timber boards beneath the setup.
Protecting the staircase and turn
JB arranged blankets over surfaces beside the carpeted steps and around the turning stairwell. The route photos show the attention given to the spaces the bath had to pass through.
Completing the indoor handling stage
The indoor photographs show the JB team beside the covered bath and the bath resting on padding in a bright room. Protective wrapping remained in place at the pictured stage.

The bath, specialist setup and protected staircase
Nine supplied photographs document outdoor handling, the prepared stair route and the bath inside the property. The staircase photos show the route and protection; they do not show the bath travelling on the steps. Select a photo to enlarge it.
THE INDOOR RESULT
A protected bath relocation from handling area to indoor placement
The photo set records the freestanding bath inside the property after the outdoor handling stages. The item remained protected, with padding beneath it and wrapping around its body.
For JB’s specialist removalists in Sydney, a substantial fixture move involves the item and its surroundings together. Here, the bath’s protection, the turning stair route and the support at each photographed stage formed the core of the project.

What information does JB need for a bath relocation?
Send the make/model if known, confirmed weight, dimensions, collection and destination details, and clear photographs of the item and the complete access route.
Why do staircase turns matter?
A turn changes the space available for the bath and moving equipment. The team needs to assess the landing and adjoining surfaces along with the steps.
What protection is shown in this project?
The photographs show quilted blankets, clear wrapping and securing straps on the bath, plus blankets beside the staircase and padding beneath the indoor item.
Does relocation include plumbing installation?
This case study documents moving and positioning. Any plumbing or installation requirements should be identified separately when arranging your project.
