REAL JB PROJECT · SPA RELOCATION & DIFFICULT ACCESS

Eight-Person Spa Relocation Down Two Flights of Stairs in Sydney

Six removalists. Two flights of stairs with a turn. A wall crossing and a bush path before final placement.

JB Removals relocated this large eight-person spa through a demanding Sydney access route. The job combined stair descent, a change of direction, a wall and a short bush path, with the spa ultimately moved into its final position.

The team planned the route and ramp arrangements around those obstacles. The photos show the protected spa on its side, secured with straps, alongside ramps, blankets and moving equipment used during the project.

THE FULL ACCESS CHALLENGE

Large spa relocation through restricted Sydney access

Moving an eight-person spa is a substantial handling task even when the route is open. On this project, the spa had to go down two flights of stairs with a turn, cross a wall and pass along a small bushwalk before reaching its destination.

The difficulty came from the obstacles working together. The team needed to consider the stair descent and turn, then the changes in level and working space beyond the staircase. Completing one stage still left the next access challenge ahead.

JB assigned six removalists to the job. Planning the route, arranging ramps and coordinating the large load across the different sections were central to this demanding spa relocation.

WEIGHT CONTEXT

Approximate empty weight of an eight-person spa

Manufacturer specifications for comparable eight-person spas give useful context: Sapphire lists the myFriends at 335 kg dry and myParadise at 410 kg dry, while Hot Spring’s 2017 Gleam manual lists 575 kg dry.

For this case study, roughly 300–600 kg empty is a comparison-based estimate, rather than a measured weight for the pictured spa. Its make, model and exact weight have not been confirmed. This estimate describes the scale of the item; it does not establish the load used for equipment selection on the job.

These figures refer to dry weight. Water and occupants are excluded from the comparison.

WHAT MADE THE JOB DIFFICULT

Stairs, a turn, a wall and a bush path

Descending two flights of stairs

The large spa had to travel down two stair flights. The photos show ramp sections across outdoor steps, with protective blankets along the handling route.

Managing the turn between stair sections

The turn added a change of direction to the descent. The crew had to coordinate the bulky spa within the available clearance, rather than treat the staircase as a straight route.

Crossing a wall along the route

The wall was another distinct access obstacle. The team planned this transition as part of the complete move, before continuing towards the final destination.

Continuing through the bush path

Beyond the stairs and wall, the route included a short bushwalk. The photographs show dense planting, garden walls and confined outdoor spaces around the spa.

THE PROJECT APPROACH

Route planning, ramps and a coordinated six-person crew

01

Planning the complete relocation route

JB’s planning covered the two stair flights, the turn, the wall and the bush path. The destination formed part of the plan from the outset, including the space needed to move the spa into its final position.

02

Protecting the spa for specialist handling

The supplied photos show wrapping, protective material and securing straps around the large spa. Its protected body is pictured on its side during several stages of the route.

03

Arranging ramps for the stair sections

Ramp planning was a key part of the project. The photo sequence records ramps across outdoor steps and protective blankets within the narrow passage, with the crew working around the spa and the route.

04

Coordinating the descent and change of direction

The six removalists managed the spa through the stair descent and turn. The size of the load and the restricted surroundings made coordinated handling particularly important at the changes between sections.

05

Negotiating the wall and bushwalk

The move continued over the wall and through the short bush path. These obstacles extended the specialist handling beyond the staircase and into the landscaped outdoor route.

06

Moving the spa into its final position

JB completed the route and placed the spa at its destination. A pallet jack is visible in the adjoining access area, illustrating another handling stage within this complex move.

THE COMPLETED RELOCATION

A demanding eight-person spa move completed in Sydney

JB completed the spa relocation with a six-person crew, taking the large item down two flights of stairs with a turn, over a wall, along a bush path and into its final position.

This project highlights the planning behind heavy lifting relocations in Sydney. The team had to account for the whole route, with ramp arrangements and coordinated handling through several different access obstacles.

Planning a spa relocation over stairs

Can an eight-person spa be moved down stairs?

This JB project involved two flights with a turn and several further access obstacles. Another spa requires an assessment of its exact model, weight, dimensions and route.

What should I send for a spa moving quote?

Send the spa details and photos or video covering the stairs, turns, wall crossings, garden paths and final position. Include the spaces at the start and end of each section.

How much did this spa weigh?

The exact weight is unconfirmed. Comparable eight-person models support a rough 300–600 kg dry estimate for editorial context, subject to identifying the actual model.

Does a six-person crew suit every spa move?

Six removalists worked on this particular project. The crew for another relocation depends on the spa and the full access route.
